Walking Wednesdays spring season will start on April 15 and will take place for six weeks, weather permitting.  The program promotes wellness via physical activity. February Teacher and Staff Conference Dinner

The PTA will host a dinner for the teachers and staff during parent/teacher conferences and we are asking for volunteers and food donations. The dinner will be held on Thursday, February 12th from 5-6PM, please have your donation delivered to the MediaCenter by 4:30 PM. To make this successful, we will need volunteers for set up/clean up and a few to stay any time from 4:30-6:30 PM. Please review the link below and provide support wherever you wish. Dancing in a Winter Wonderland!

TRES PTA’s Family Socials Committee invites you to join us on Friday, February 27th for TRES’ first Snow “Ball”.  The Snow “Ball” will be held at TRES in the Cafeteria from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.  Come celebrate snowflakes and snowballs as we dance the winter blues away!!
All students in attendance will receive one Kona Ice Cone.  Custard and soft pretzels will be available for an extra cost.

We gladly welcome High School students who are in need of Community Service hours!!
As with all of our Family Social events, this will not be a “drop-off” event.  All students must be accompanied by an adult.
During the dance, the Community Outreach Committee will be collecting personal hygiene items for the Newcomers Pantry at River Hill High School. We will be collecting shampoo, deodorant, conditioner, soaps, lotions, toothpaste and toothbrushes as the cost of “admissions” for the dance. Time to Register for the Retriever Run Fundraiser! Register early and save!

You’ve made your New Year fitness resolutions, now it’s time to commit to a healthy lifestyle while supporting the TRES PTA at our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Registration is now available for our family oriented Retriever Run on Sunday, April 12.  Bring the family for a morning of fitness fun starting with a one-mile Fun Run at 8 a.m. for kids ages 12 and under. Cost is $15 per person age 5 and over.  After the Fun Run, a 5K race will take place beginning at 8:30 a.m. Cost for the 5K is $25 per person. Take advantage of the special early bird registration rates. Please visit https://register.chronotrack.com/reg/responsiveForm?eventID=12124#regOptions for online registration.  Paid registration before February 6th, guarantees the early registration rate.  All paid registration before March 26 guarantees an event t-shirt.  There will be trophies for the top male and female finishers of the 5K, and age group winners will receive medals.  Bullseye running will provide race timing (through chronotrack) and there will be police and event marshals present for traffic safety.

At this time, the Retriever Run committee seeks business sponsors for monetary donations to enhance this event.

Get Ready, Get Set, Let’s Skate!

Family Skate Night and Dinner

TRES PTA’s Family Socials Committee invites you to join us on Friday, December 5th for Family Skate Night.  Skate night will be held at Supreme Sports Club (7080 Deepage Dr, Columbia, MD21045) from 4:30pm to 6:30pm.  Roller skate rentals will be $3 and Inline rentals will be $4.

After skating, join us at Three Brother’s Italian Restaurant (right next door to Supreme Sports) to re-fuel.  Three Brothers will donate 20% of all proceeds back to TRES PTA!!!  Flyers to Three Brothers  will be available at the rink to take with you to dinner.

Retriever Rally

Friday, Oct. 24th 6:30 – 8:30 pm at TRES

Our annual fall festival is back! It will be an awesome evening full of fun!!  Entrance to the event and all activities are FREE. Fan favorites return this year—Bake Walk, inflatables, crafts and games galore. Note the new times!  We’re starting earlier so come hungry and take advantage of dinner concessions and Kona Ice available for purchase.

Please consider donating 30 minutes of your time that evening to run a game station, craft table, or bake walk. Helping at this event is a great opportunity for new families to meet our community and for students in 8th grade and above to earn student service hours. Community Outreach Coat Drive

Please bring new or gently used coats to donate to the HCPSS Pupil Personnel Workers Coat Drive. Collection bins will be on site at the Retriever Rally. All donations go to Howard County students in need.

Welcome To A New School Year 2014-2015

Welcome to another exciting school year and our new website. The TRES community will continue to receive posts, and biweekly emails keeping you informed of the latest PTA activities and initiatives.
Browse our new site and consider joining the TRES PTA and help support our students, teachers, staff and school. The PTA meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm in the media center. Our first meeting is Sept 2.
New this year, you can become a PTA member by enrolling online and submitting payment on our secured website. Click on “Join TRES PTA” to learn more.  Plans are already underway, so join us today!
Welcome Kindergarteners, New and Returning Students!
Open House, Orientation and Sneak Peek for all our students is Friday, August 22.
  • Kindergarten Open House: 9:30am – 10:30am
  • New Student Orientation: 1pm – 2pm
  • Returning Students Sneak Peek for Grades 1-5: 2pm – 2:45pm
Come meet your teachers, your classmates and visit your school. Drop off your school supplies and tour your class rooms. Returning students and families- Did you notice anything different?
Then, say hi to old friends and meet some new ones as you enjoy your snow cone at Sneak Peek. We are looking forward to seeing everyone!

5th Grade Picnic in the Park

Our “top dog” Retrievers enjoyed many fun, fifth-grade activities on June 6th, thanks to the coordination efforts of Kathy Wildy. Whether it be their class t-shirt keepsake, or stories from their off-site Cedar Lane picnic, students leave with “TREaSured” memories of their last elementary school year.  013
